Greetings! The Writing Center is open for the next two weeks and then will close for the fall 2020 semester on Tuesday, December 15th.
Between now and then, students may choose either synchronous “Online” appointments or asynchronous "eTutoring." We most value the back-and-forth exchanges between students and consultants that our synchronous “Online” sessions offer. However, asynchronous “eTutoring”—where you can upload a draft and request feedback on 1-2 priorities, and consultants will offer written and/or audio feedback—will be a useful supplement, especially for students who are experiencing a significant time difference from the NYU-NY campus.
To reserve an appointment, click on the "Register for an account" link to the left. Once you register, you can login and reserve an appointment up to 7 days in advance at a time that works well for you. In addition, please click here for more information about how to use the system's asynchronous "eTutoring" and synchronous "Online" tutoring systems for your Writing Center conferences.
Please note that all the times shown are Eastern Daylight time—if you are in a different time zone, you have to take the time difference into consideration when reserving your synchronous "Onllne" appointment. We look forward to seeing you soon!
If you are seeking feedback on a CV or resume, we recommend that you visit the Wasserman Center, where they have a online tutoring service called "Handshake". Students can schedule 30-minute appointments there for resume and cover letter review. They also have a drop-service. The link to this service can be found here: https://www.nyu.edu/students/student-information-and-resources/career-development-and-jobs/appointments.html
The 45-minute conferences of the Writing Center are reserved for students who want to work on a draft of a paper, story, or personal statement. Thank you for understanding.
More generally, to be sure that you understand our policies, please read the Writing Center Pledge below. Please also see our webpage to learn more about how we will work with you:https://cas.nyu.edu/content/nyu-as/cas/ewp/writing-center.html
**Please note: Students are allowed a maximum of 6 appointments per semester. Also, students will not be able to print at the Writing Center.
** Tandon students who need to visit the Writing Center twice in the same week for assignments from EG 1003 *and* from Expository Writing courses can make a second appointment by permission by emailing Richard Larson (email@example.com) and requesting an available appointment time on the weekly schedule.
